Sales Engineer
This multinational organisation has built a reputation for design innovation, quality and delivery, with over fifty years of experience in the design and manufacture of material handling products, servicing the construction, industrial and process industries. Due to their ongoing approach to growth, they are currently seeking a Sales Engineer to join their team.
The purpose of this position is to play an important role in driving the technical aspects of the sales process, collaborating with customers, sales representatives, and the product team. As a key technical resource, you will showcase the value and capabilities of the company products to potential clients and ensure a seamless transition from pre-sales to post-sales implementation.
Your key responsibilities and accountabilities will be:
- Collaborating with the product and engineering teams to ensure proposed product solutions align with technical feasibility
- Providing feedback and insights from customer interactions to improve product development activities
- Supplying technical data, sales drawings and information as required to the tendering department
- Establishing a strong working rapport with the technical, production, quality and administration teams to achieve the desired results and tendering deadlines
- Cultivating strong relationships with key customers, serving as the go-to technical contact throughout the sales lifecycle
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including product overviews, technical specifications and case studies
- Assisting the Sales and Marketing Manager in establishing excellent co-ordination, communication and supply of technical data as required by existing and prospective customers
To be successful in this role you will be degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline and have previous experience in a technical sales/application engineering capacity within a project-based manufacturing environment. Previous experience working on material handling products and projects will be highly regarded. It is also expected that you will have experience working with AutoCAD and Inventor software. Essential to your success in this role are strong communication and interpersonal skills to be able to communicate successfully with all internal and external stakeholders.
