Strategic Account Manager / Relationship Manager

Due to this success, they are now seeking a driven and passionate Account Manager/Relationship Manager to join their Sydney sales team and contribute to their future growth.

Your Role:

As the Strategic Account Manager, the principal function of this role is to maximise sales profitability, growth and market penetration by effectively selling products and related services active and effective customer relationship management. You’ll spend 70% of your time managing a loyal customer base and existing key accounts, and 30% of your time developing new business opportunities and opening new market segments.

With a direct reporting line to the Managing Director, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the Management team to develop and implement sales strategies and strategic business development plans aligned with business objectives
  • Conducting thorough market research to identify potential clients, and analyse market and industry trends
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and key stakeholders to enhance business opportunities and foster collaboration
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through strategic territory management, lead generation, networking, and targeted outreach efforts
  • Fostering long-term client partnerships through exceptional service and ongoing account management
  • Providing regular reports on sales performance and market trends to key internal stakeholders
  • Participating in trade shows and conventions as and when required
  • Exploring new possibilities in product/service design and utilisation to generate additional business

Skills and experience:

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record in B2B sales and a demonstrated history of consistent sales growth. You will be;

  • A proven hunter, passionate about driving sales and building long-term relationships with your customers through a consultative sales approach.
  • Experienced in new business development, customer relationship and account management, ideally within the manufacturing sector.
  • A strong communicator, negotiator and problem solver, with the ability to influence at operational, management and senior executive levels.
  • Tertiary qualified in Engineering/Manufacturing or Trade Qualified in a related field (preferred)
  • Able to digest and convey complex technical product information effectively to clients
